Album Premier: Gavriloprincip – Sacred Memory Plaza

Today we have the privilege of hosting a full album premier for Gloucester, MA’s mathy post punk concern, Gavriloprincip. Their name presumedly derives from the Bosnian Serb Revolutionary who assassinated Franz Ferdinand. Band name aside, their debut full length, Sacred Memory Plaza is proving to be one of the years best surprises, ripe with the some familiar touchstones such as Rodan, Squirrel Bait, and Slint, yet it’s the bands inventive use such heavy weight influences to create an album that manages to be quite unique, is what keeps me coming back over and over. The album will be available on Friday digitally as well as on limited cassette from Midnight Werewolf Records.

Gavriloprincip originally formed between high school friends as a duo in 2022, but has since evolved their line up last year prior to laying down the tracks that would wind up Sacred Memory Plaza. The band will celebrate the release of their debut with a show this Saturday at in Salem at The Felt Fantastic.
